- Introduction - A welcome, followed by the principles of belief surrounding
marriage.
- Personalised Section - Acknowledgement of parents or children; information
about the relationship that is relevant. It can be light hearted or
romantic, serious—your choice. After talking with you, I will
draft it for you if you wish.
- Readings - Your choice of verse or prose.
- Giving Away - Traditionally the father ‘gives the bride away'.
This can be structured to be more about family support for both the
Bride and Groom and can include all the parents.
- The Asking - A formal question in relation to your intentions.
- Vows - Your promises. They need to acknowledge your life-long commitment
but can also say anything that you wish to promise to each other.
- Exchange of Rings
- Followed by …
· Declaration (and embrace)
· Signing of Register & Certificate (requires two adult witnesses)
· Introduction of the Married Couple
· Congratulations from guests
The presentation copy of your ceremony becomes a
treasured keepsake, as does the quality marriage certificate, a
PA system ensures that your guests can hear your chosen words, and
a rehearsal makes sure everything goes according to your wishes.

Legalities
Notice of Intended Marriage Available from your celebrant or the Government
Statist. This form must be lodged with your celebrant at least one month
prior to your wedding day and no longer than eighteen months beforehand.
Birth certificates or extracts of entry are required. If born overseas,
passports may be acceptable.
A Decree Absolute is required if you are divorced. You can complete the
notice of intention to marry after the court hearing, and during the one-month
period prior to the decree becoming absolute.
Death Certificate or extract of death, plus previous marriage certificate,
are necessary if you are widowed.
All documents in languages other than English require a certified translation.
Fees vary from celebrant to celebrant. To confirm your booking, a deposit
is required when you lodge the Notice of Intention to Marry with the celebrant.
The balance of the fee is due at least two weeks prior to the wedding
day, usually at the rehearsal.
